Warranty and Returns

For information about Ceiling Fans Direct Returns and Warranty policy, please read below. 

1. Do the products you sell come with a warranty?

Yes, all products we sell come with a minimum 12-month warranty (unless otherwise stated in cases such as complimentary globes). 

A lot of our products come with an In-Home Warranty, such as ceiling fans. This means that should you have any issues/faults with the product after it has been installed,  the manufacturer can arrange for a service agent to attend the site and repair or replace the product,  which can save you additional electrician costs. Some conditions do apply and are outlined in the warranty documents supplied with your ceiling fans.

PLEASE NOTE: It is a requirement by law in Australia that all 240V hard-wired electrical products (with the exception of DIY products) must be installed by a licensed electrical contractor. Failure to do so will void any product warranties. In addition, any repair, alteration, or tampering of the product without the approval of Ceiling Fans Direct or the manufacturer will also void your warranty.

Some products we sell are DIY and can be installed without the need for an electrician. The warranty does not cover incorrect installation, normal wear, and tear, damage through incorrect use, or power fluctuations.

The warranty information listed above is in addition to any statutory rights, to which you may be entitled under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010.

2. I have a faulty product, what do I do now?

Most all our ceiling fans come with an In-Home Warranty (unless otherwise stated). Details about our ceiling fan in-home warranties can also be found in the warranty info inside the fan box or product page. When claiming a warranty, please have your original order/invoice number, a brief description of the fault, and if relevant, any images which may assist us in diagnosing the problem. With this information, we can assist you with the best solution. 

If you have a fault with something other than a ceiling fan, the faulty product in most cases will need to be returned to us. Please contact us prior to sending back any items so that we are able to assist you with the correct course of action. On arrival, we may need to test the product to ascertain the nature of the fault.

Depending on the nature of the fault, under Australian Consumer Law, you may be entitled to a refund, repair, or replacement. 

In the event of a refund, please allow us 72 hours to process the refund, and the refunded amount will be reimbursed back to your original payment method.

3. Can I return a product purchased online?

Yes, at Ceiling Fans Direct we want to make it easy for customers to do business with us which is why we offer a 30-Day Money Back Guarantee.

The Ceiling Fans Direct 30-Day Money Back Guarantee does not exclude or replace your statutory rights given under the Australian Consumer Law and Regulations ACT 2010.

We are happy to accept returns if you change your mind or the product is not suitable. We can accept products returned to us within 30 days from the receipt of your item. The goods must be in original, unused, and undamaged condition. Upon receipt of the product(s), we will provide you with a refund via the original payment method.

Although some of our products may be shipped for free, on return of these products, our actual delivery costs will be deducted from the refund. Insurance and surcharge cannot be refunded.

If you would like to return a product purchased from us and it is inside the 30-day returns policy, please send us an email HERE and we will provide you with a return authorization and the necessary information. Please also include the order/invoice number with the good(s) that you are returning to us.

If you have changed your mind and would like to return your order, Ceiling Fans Direct may offer you either an exchange or refund provided the following conditions are met:

  • You have a valid Ceiling Fans Direct Tax Invoice
  • The product(s) are in original undamaged packaging, including all instruction manuals and accessories 
  • The product(s) have not been installed, used, or altered
  • The refund or exchange is sought within 30 days of the order placement
  • The product(s) would need to be returned to their place of purchase, and any cost associated with returning the goods would be at the consumers' expense
  • Is not subject to the exclusions listed in this policy.

Please note that any refund given would be less original postage/insurance costs (in the event that your goods were shipped for free the actual postage amount would be deducted from the refund).

EXCLUSIONS

Please choose carefully when purchasing the following products, as we are unfortunately unable to offer refunds for certain products/orders:

  • Custom built to specifications orders.
  • Special orders (this is any product not listed on the website)
  • Complementary products, such as globes.
  • Clearance Products ("Last Chance Clearance")
  • Gift Vouchers.

RETURNS TENDER 

When a refund is sought for your purchase, the refund is provided using your original payment method or method of our choosing. Please be advised that any third-party costs such as credit card surcharges and transit Insurance paid are non-refundable. 

STORE CREDIT

If your product is older than 30 days but you have changed your mind and would like to return it, Ceiling Fans Direct is still here to help. Provided it means the above conditions and the product has not been discontinued and/or installed and is still in its original packaging, we may offer you an in-store credit voucher. The credit voucher will compromise the original purchase price of the item(s) minus the delivery fee and may also be subject to a restocking fee. Although some products may be shipped for free, on return of these products, our actual delivery costs will be deducted from the store credit. Insurance cannot be refunded. 

The issuing of this credit note will be at the discretion of Ceiling Fans Direct.
